Ready or NOT...

The "nestlings" started school today and I'm not sure I'm happy about it.
We've had a good summer. For once we planned it well, with a trip at the beginning,
a visit to my parents for the "nestlings", swimming lessons for the little ones,
art lessons for the big ones, a trip at the end, and swimming in between.
I lowered my expectations this summer of how clean I kept the house and the number of home projects I worked on. I tried to only run necessary errands.
My biggest accomplishment was spending time with the "nestlings",
helping "T" work on his Faith in God and, "C" improve her reading.
As the years go by I realize more and more how short they are and
how fast the "nestlings" are growing up.
I'm trying to make the most of our summers together while I still can. I'm sure some summers will be better than others, but I'm happy this one was pretty great overall:)
That's why I'm a little sad to see it end.

  1. You have such great perspective. I killed myself off (nearly) this summer. I need to take some mommy lessons! Love the signs. What awesome ideas.
